A difference in height, not in character
What separates the two varieties is height at the withers: the Miniature measures roughly 28 to 35 cm, the Toy 24 to 28 cm, with weight in proportion. Everything else — the attentiveness, the curiosity, the wish to take part — belongs to the breed, not to the size.
What changes in daily life
What changes is the physical footprint: the space taken up at home, the weight to lift, the stamina on a long walk. A Miniature copes more easily with demanding outings; a Toy moves nimbly even in small spaces, but needs care around jumps and rougher games.
The need for training, exercise and stimulation is the same. Neither variety is a dog to be carried around: both need to walk, learn and take part in family life.
The questions that help you choose
How much time will you be able to give to walks? Are there small children or older people at home? What are your rhythms during the week? The answers matter more than the size: living well together comes from the meeting between an individual puppy’s character and your daily life.
That is why, when you write to us, we do not start from the variety but from your life. The size is the last thing we decide together.
